50th Annual Providence Open Competition

Originally called the Providence Synchro Open, this competition has been hosted by the Pawtucket and Providence Figure Skating Club since the late 1990s. The LeeAnn Miele Synchronized Skating Open is named in memory of LeeAnn Miele, a former member of PPFSC. She was a pioneer in synchronized skating and served as an International and World Judge in synchronized skating. In addition, she was a National Judge and Referee with U.S. Figure Skating in all disciplines. Despite her hectic schedule, LeeAnn was never too busy to judge tests or local competitions. She always had time to help individual skaters, coaches, or teams preparing for tests or competitions. She devoted countless hours helping prospective judges cope with the formidable learning requirements and on-ice experience needed for them to succeed. Those countless hours of advice and support fostered the enthusiasm and dedication of two generations of skaters and judges.
